Who are Butler Auto Mart?

Butler Auto Mart is a family owned and operated company that has been running since 1975.

Tony started working in the Car Parts Business in the early 1960’s, selling vehicle spare parts which date back to the early 1900’s, wonderful bearings which are still encased in grease to preserve them for use in the 2nd World War Vehicles, many of these parts are still in stock and available at Butler Auto Mart.

In 1975 Tony started Tony Butler Motors at 261 Stanmore Road, Christchurch. At this stage Tony Butler Motors was also an Atlantic Service Station, a Hire Department was soon added to the business, hiring Car Transporters, and trailers etc.

In 1987 it was necessary, with the increasing stock holding, to build a new building. A 12,000sqft building was built, and soon after, The Atlantic Oil Company was merged with The Mobil Oil Company, and the old Atlantic Service Station had a complete face lift, to become a Mobil Service Station, and Tony Butler Motors became known as Butler Auto Mart and the store at Stanmore Road became Butler Auto Mart Superstore.

In the last few years Butler Auto Mart has undergone many changes from being a Mobil Service Station to becoming a Gasoline Alley Service Station, always retaining foremost a very extensive New Car Parts Department.

Butler Auto Mart are very well known in Christchurch, and over the years have become well known through the internet, as the Parts and Accessories Store which stock parts from the early 1900’s to the present date. Butler Auto Mart have a demand from all over the world for new parts for very old vehicles and boast having probably one of the only parts stores who do specialise in new parts for old vehicles, we also have a complete stock of new parts for the latest model vehicles.
Tony has over 50 years knowledge of all parts for all vehicles, what he doesn’t know is really not worth knowing.

Butler Auto Mart are also situated at 407 Colombo Street, Sydenham, Christchurch, which is run by yet another member of the Butler Family, Edward. Butler Auto Mart has always been a family owned and operated business, with all members of the family taking an active part in the day to day running of the business.

Butler Auto Mart have an extensive stock holding with over 42,000 line items.
